you & me, summer '19

Hello! I'm back from my exceptionally long summer hiatus, so here's a quick little recap of what my summer has entailed!

I spent what was left of June and most of July in rehearsals working on DCMS's production of "Chicago" with some of my friends. Through that process, I made a ton of cookies, new friends, and worked my booty off dancing for hours every single day. It was a ton of work, but it totally payed off because our shows were such an adventure. I'm so grateful for the talented cast I had the privilege of working with, the folks who came to see our shows, and I'm BEYOND grateful for our crew and production team. (I'm Kim's favorite. You saw it here first folks!)

Also during the course of July, I took 9 days off of rehearsal and flew to Florida with my family and some of my cousins! We had the incredible opportunity to visit Disney World as well as the Kennedy Space Center while we were there. Both were equally as magical. It was such a fun week or so to spend with my silly cousins and our uncle. Our families had the best time, watched a ton of illegal movies, and payed for absolutely everything with $2 bills while we were there. *Insert "Un Poco Loco" just for the memes*

In August, things really picked up when I got to go to LOST CANYON with Mariners High School Ministry for the last time. *Insert tears* (So wild to think that I'm considered a senior now!)

I feel stupid blessed because God really did save the best for last. I had the most legendary cabin and was surrounded by the greatest, most loving, and beautiful, sister souls. These girls are gems. Absolute gems. So shoutout to the Black Team and my cabin and leaders for shining so brightly for Christ. Lost Canyon 2019 was wild. Too wild for its own blog post, so message me if you wanna get coffee and talk about it in detail or somethin'.

Also in August, this past week I had Chamber Choir Retreat! Once again, my final retreat was the best of 'em all. We played a plethora of different games and did some new bonding exercises and I met some of the coolest friends through that. I never would have imagined growing so close to this random group of choir kids; but after bonding over our shared obsession for Helen Keller and card games, there's no one else I could see myself being friends with.

That's the most solid recap of my summer that I can give, but to sum it all up and put a nice lil' bow on it;

The summer before senior year has been pretty rad. If summer has been THIS awesome, then I can't even begin to imagine how wild SENIOR YEAR is gonna be. I'm beyond thankful for the people I've hung out with or bumped into this summer. It's been dope.

So Cheers! Cheers to the meals shared, the dates had, the adventures taken, the waves ridden (or wiped out), and so much more. Cheers to the good times and the not so good ones too because they all teach us something. God is so good. Praise be to Him.

!!!

Much Love,

Del
