Before I start off my TNL post, I'd like to thank those of you who are reading my blog right now. I know I've been posting inconsistently and I've had a lot going on, so blogging hasn't recently been my highest priority, but that doesn't mean I'm leaving, it just means I have a lot of content that I'm waiting to perfect before I post it. I have a series of devotionals headed your way (I have four in the works right now), so if my posting has been sporadic, I promise that it will all pay off in the end because I want those posts to be the best that they can be. With that all said, thank you, thank you, thank you, and welcome to my TNL post!
Trabuco Night Live, (or as I'll be calling it throughout this post,) TNL, was such a wonderful way to kick off my Off The Wall journey.
I'm so thankful for Off The Wall (OTW). For those of you who are confused why I'm saying the Vans trademarked slogan over and over, I mean OTW as in Trabuco's top theater program. These are the upperclassmen who put their blood, sweat, and tears into the shows that Trabuco produces. Whether it's a Drama 2 show like Children's Theater or "Crazy King Arthur" or an OTW production like TNL or one of our mainstage plays or the musical, these students work their tails off. It's inspiring to see how much passion everyone has, and I feel so blessed to get to work in that environment daily.
Now on to TNL- This show was such a blast. TNL, as I've learned, is quite the bonding experience. I've never gotten so close to people (both physically and emotionally) in such a short amount of time. And the best part is that nothing about this program feels forced. Every rehearsal, every read-through, every costume change, every blackout, it's all because we want to. Because we care about what we're doing and we care about the people we're doing this with and for. It's very comforting.
I take every show as an opportunity to learn something new about myself, but this time, I ended up learning more about the people I was working with. I know that Bella had gummies thrown at her during passing period one day. I know that Taylor and Eric get to school extra early to work in the tech room. I know that Sophia works hard to make sure that we have all of the props and that they're all organized. I know that Finn gives up so much for her students because of how much she loves us and this program. It's honestly unbelievable. And I can't wait for the next show because that's another excuse to get even closer with these beautiful people.
Anywho, the whole point of this show post was to
A) talk about the show (duh!)
B) talk more about how i love people
& C) express my love for OTW even more than I already do on a daily basis for these gems.
Gosh I love this program and I can't wait for my Midsummer post in winter!
Much Love,
Delaney Miller
