My name is Delaney and I'm here to talk about self health.

Self Health is extremely important.
Confession Time:
I struggle with this.
Look at me! Another imperfect human who struggles with something!
I'll be real honest here, I am awful at taking care of myself. I hate being sick so I try to take vitamins on the daily and I try to drink the recommended amount of water, but it's way more than that. If I really think about it, I see myself a certain way in the mirror. Somedays, I think I look like an absolute goddess. Others, not so much. I also don't always eat the healthiest food. I would much rather have a piece of pizza than a bowl of salad. And most nights, I forget to take my makeup off before I go to bed. I also don't give myself the proper amount of time I need to emotionally heal myself. If I'm going through something, I likely will go on with my day carrying around an upsetting weight on my shoulders.
I was blessed with an incredible health teacher the second semester of my freshman year or high school. She taught me so much within that one semester. I learned all about how a person's health affects them. I learned that taking care of yourself is so necessary. I learned that treating emotional pain like physical pain is very beneficial. I learned that if you put your health on the backburner and sacrifice it for other things, it won't do you any good, in fact, you could turn out worse than what you started with. I learned that anxiety and depression aren't conditions that define you. I learned that therapy isn't something to be ashamed about, it's actually really good for you. I learned that the human brain can do very many amazing things.
If I can offer any wisdom, it would just be to take care of yourself. If you're starting to not feel good, don't push through it, instead take a nap and have a bowl of chicken noodle soup. If you've gone through a breakup recently, don't go out with your friends and third wheel, you probably won't feel super great doing so. It's basic things like that where all I can say is just take care of yourself. Your body, including your brain, is very powerful and if you don't give it any down time, you'll run yourself ragged.
