I'm posting three times this week because I had this moment the other day where I realized that I haven't really talked much about who I am or where I'm from. Like I've said before, I'm not a big fan of fancy introductions, but I think that since y'all have stuck around this long, you should get to know about me a little bit more. If you know me personally and not just through the internet, you probably already know the majority of what these posts will be like, but whether you think you know me well or not, I hope you enjoy.
(I keep re-typing this section because I don't know how to start, so I'm just going to start with a simple list:)
15 FUN FACTS about me!
1. I have a handful of "Delaney-ism"s that I say far too often.
These include "yikes," "anywho," "fun fact," "hecka," etc.
2. I hate (running in) sand.
I was born and raised in Southern California and so one's natural assumption would be that I love the beach. Although I do enjoy the beach, I am very particular about what I like versus what I do not like. I love to boogie board and I love to build quality sand castles, but I hate the the awkward warm feeling when you're pretty sure the person next you just peed in the ocean water and the feeling of rough sand below my feet.
3. I've gone to three schools so far in my entire life.
This is a pretty boring fact, but I went to Trabuco Mesa Elementary School, then went to the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) from seventh grade until freshman year, and last but not least I currently am a student at Trabuco Hills High School.
4. I love to write
I think that since starting a blog, I've been more vocal about my love for writing, but I really do take pleasure in writing. Whether it's song lyrics or poems or short stories or whatever, it's a good time.
5. I'm allergic to some hecka strange things.
I'm allergic to cats, bees, and alcohol (which are all fairly normal) but additionally, I'm allergic to celery. Celery is probably my strangest allergy just because it's 95% water. I don't know what that other 5% is, but whatever it is, it doesn't like me all that much.
6. On a brighter note, I really love ice cream.
Ice cream is one of the things I could eat and never get sick of. I don't have a favorite flavor of ice cream, but anything from Thrifty or Ben and Jerry's will typically get a good response.
7. My absolute favorite movie of all time is called "Life Is Beautiful"
This movie is the all time greatest thing. It's available to be watched in English, but I prefer to watch it in Italian because it make the film a million times better than it already is. Other honorable mentions for favorite movie go out to "Sing Street," "Clue," "The Breakfast Club," "Napoleon Dynamite," "The Bodyguard," and "The Little Mermaid."
8. I am a huge musical theater dork.
I can't pick a favorite show because picking a favorite show is like picking your favorite child, but recently I've been listening to a lot of "Dear Evan Hansen," "Chorus Line," "Spring Awakening," "In The Heights," "The Last Five Years," "Heathers," "Waitress," "Into The Woods," etc. (Honestly, this list could continue for ages, but I'll stop here because this is only point 8) lately.
9. I also am really into classical music.
This I can blame OCSA's CV program for. I now really enjoy operas. My favorite that I've been able to see so far is "The Ghosts of Versailles" but I also really enjoy "Carmen," "The Magic Flute," and plenty of others. Composer-wise (I know that's not a word, but bear with me) I now listen to Bach, Chopin, Mozart, John Cage, and choral music in my free time, so classical music is now apart of my life and I never would have thought that before.
10. I love a good cup of coffee or tea and a nice book.
If I could live in a world where all I did was read and sip a lovely hot beverage, I'd be set for the rest of my life.
11. I love cloudy days.
My favorite season is fall because I love the colors and the clouds. I'm not a huge fan of bright sunlight because I burn easily, and rain stresses me out in situations where I'm not watching it from the inside of a house. Clouds are the happy medium therefore I just love cloudy days, they're my favorite!
12. I name my succulents.
Yes I am one of those people. Unfortunately though, my babies don't always live for very long. I have lost Fredrick, Harold, and Beau. I still have Ron Possible, Kim Possible, and Maisy alive, so I'm doing my best to keep them safe.
13. I'm the worst car DJ.
I listen to every style of music, and whatever I want to listen to, whoever is in the car likely will not want to listen to it. It's sad but true.
14. I think that pants are one of the greatest inventions to come out of this world.
I think with that, that allowing women to wear pants is an even greater accomplishment. I just have this unusual love for pants and I am so thankful for them. They are so comfy and easy to walk around in. I just really love pants and I thought I would share that with you all.
15. I love making lists.
I think that after reading this post it will have been very clear, but I really love making lists and organizing everything.
