new friends

Before I start this post, I just want to say, HAPPY ONE MONTH BABY! I'm so proud that we've lasted this long. A warm thank you to everyone who reads my blog and an even greater thank you everyone who's subscribed to "messy & kind." If you aren't subscribed already, Imma give myself a quick shameless self-promo because all you gotta do is go down to the bottom of any page on my blog and fill out your email and your name. That's it. It's highly encouraged;) Also, HAPPY GLOBAL STUDENT DAY OF PRAYER! If you are a student, today is the recognized day where students get together, often at the school's flagpole, and pray for the school and the upcoming school year. If your school does that, I highly encourage you to take part in that too:) Now without further ado, here's my post:

zuri wrapped me up like a burrito today!

God's blessed me by surrounding me with some really amazing folks at my new school. All of them are incredible humans, and I just wanted to share the love I'm feeling with y'all here on the blog. ("the blog" aw man... who have I become...) I wanted to take the time just to encourage a couple of new pals of mine!

Hannah. (ahahaha I'm sorry for singling you out¯\_(ツ)_/¯) I love that you're new. I love that we're both new, and we're exploring Trabuco together. School's a little less scary when there's someone by your side. Additionally, you're so stinkin' talented and I'm constantly blown away by you. You are so humble and caring and such a light, girly! God's plans for you to prosper are clearly spectacular. You're such a light for His kingdom. Every time I step into the choir room for fifth period I'm greeted with a hug and a smile. Thank you.

Matthew 5:14-15

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they set it on a lampstand, and it gives light to everyone in the house."

Zuri. You are hilarious. You are so silly and so sweet and I love that you've kind of adopted me into the family. I don't know if you realize it, but you make sure I don't feel forgotten. Thank you for that. Also, you are such an excellent singer and dancer. (and sooner or later you'll be a great conductor too!) Every lyric that spills from your lips is sung with such joy and passion and it's inspiring.

Psalm 5:16

"But let all who take refuge in You be glad, Let them ever sing for joy; And may You shelter them, That those who love Your name may exult in You."

(Milton- er I mean) Ryan. I love getting to know you. You are really wise and super intentional in all you seem to do. It's really cool just to talk to you and hear your perspective on things. You have so much in store and so much potential for God to use you and I'm excited to see what he does in the next two years while I get to go to school with you. I think he's calling you to great things Ryan, and all you've got to do is trust in him and lean into that.

Colossians 2:2-3

"My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."

Austin. I appreciate how empathetic you are. You really have a heart for people and I think that's awesome. You have this interesting way of connecting with others and I think that God's going to use that. I genuinely can't wait to see you do good for His kingdom in the next couple of years. I love that we're friends now. Cheers to more milkshakes and boba!

Colossians 3:12

"Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience"

That's all for today folks. Just a tad bit of encouragement because you can't have enough of that. Ooh! (I seriously had an idea just now.) I encourage y'all to go encourage at least one person today. Bonus points if you encourage more than one. But all of the encouraging statements have to be genuine and authentic. Best of luck to each and every one of you. Haha!

Much Love,

Delaney Miller
